Jakarta and Ministry Call for TV Transformation

Broadband Ecosystem Evaluation Analyst, Broadband Development Directorate, Post, and Information Technology Directorate General Ratnadi Hendra Wicaksana explained that based on socialization and meetings that had been agreed upon several times for Jakarta, the data on the candidates for receiving broadcast reception aids (set-top-box/STB) was from decile data 1 and 2 of Carik Jakarta.

"Kemkominfo will determine the recipient of the STB and distribution. Hence, the administration can immediately submit data on prospective recipients of STB assistance through a Regional Head Decree," he explained.

As for the information, the administration supports the ASO program and submits data on prospective recipients of STB assistance after it is determined by the Jakarta Governor to Kemendagri and Kemkominfo.

The television transformation from analog to digital technology and the termination of analog television broadcasting is a mandate from Article 72 number 8 of Law number 11/2020 on Job Creation, Government Regulation number 46/2021 on Post, Telecommunications, and Broadcasting.
